Thank you 💜
I’ve been writing In The Money for 32 weeks. What started as #FemaleFounderFridays tweet threads grew into a newsletter with a feature of Woman of the Week. My wish with ITM has been to inspire and educate about the financial markets. Last year I read a report that 60% of US women had never invested in individual stocks, bonds, mutual funds, nor crypto. Historically women have been missing out on these wealth creating opportunities. At the same time women control ~80% of purchase decisions. Research has also shown that women are, in fact, better investors than their male counterparts. It’s time we make the investing playing field equal. Because when women get wealthier, the world and will thrive as well. And investing in female founders is trillion-dollar opportunity. If women and men participated equally as entrepreneurs, global GDP could rise by 3% to 6%, boosting the global economy by $2.5 trillion to $5 trillion. To quote Jesse Draper:
“Investing in women isn’t a fucking charity”
Myself, I’ll start a new job next Monday within investment banking. I’m excited and a bit nervous. However, this means I won’t be able to keep up writing ITM on a weekly basis. Writing ITM has given me so much joy and fulfillment. I’m so grateful for everyone who’s been reading week after week and supporting. Thank you for all the kind comments, they mean the world to me. I’ve also received emails from people who say they’ve learned a lot from ITM and some who’ve mentioned they’ve started investing, which is so amazing.
This is not a good bye, it’s a see you soon! I’ll still be active on Twitter and you can connect with me there or on LinkedIn. Now, have a fantastic financy summer 💜
